Senior Living advertising is very standardized and doesn’t differentiate one community from another. And that’s a problem since they’re all fundamentally the same.

I handled all aspects of the work shown, from the concept to the writing and the production.

When a family member is in a hospital’s discharge office needs a Skilled Nursing Facility for a parent’s care, they have to act fast.

These offices typically have a row of lucite containers where SNFs place their trifolded brochures. These pieces were no exception and had to compete against any number of other brochures.

The others all had pictures of their buildings with circular drives, pretty landscaping and an occasional smiling senior enjoying life. Of course, there were the headlines, like We REALLY Care. (Yawn)

To compete against trifiolds that look like hotel brochures, I chose to use images of people. Specifically women, because they usually make these decisions for the family and women look at pictures of women.

The headline, “It’s where to go from here,” is human and offer guidance that recognizes the situation.

The copy on the inside said it was OK to be confused and scared.
